We watched fresh, untouched buffet food about to be trashed the second a restaurant closed, food that could have fed people. That's not new; hospitality has known about this gap for years. But we're at a moment, as a society, where a lot of families are stretching just to make a trip like this happen, and seeing food go to waste that easily is hard to watch. What is new is that we', as a society, are done waiting for the slow fix. Same day, same resort: two separate moments where staff went adversarial with paying guests in front of children, using the word evicted, twice, until kids were in tears. That one isn't an industry problem to shrug at, it's a basic respect problem. We still had a great trip. But two real, fixable problems surfaced in one day, and we think Great Wolf Lodge can do better. Here's what we'd propose.
